Attended U.C., Davis ’63-’64 and received M.A. in zoology in ’65. Summer ’67 spent at Delhi University in India working with local high school biology teachers. ’68-’69 worked on the revision of the BSCS Second Level Biology course. Summers of ’70 and ’71 at Univ. of Colorado working with teachers who would use the Second Level course. Along with Norm Abraham, Bill Utley, Pat Balch and Mike Moores, who were all involved in writing science text books, we had Yuba City High in the national eye! 1976 –
Established the blood donor program at YCHS in memory of the choir students who died in the bus crash. We had one or two drives each year after that and were number one in units collected for two of those years. Some where in the 60’s, I don’t remember the exact date, I began to do the P.A. work at all of the home football games. I really enjoyed that and was christened, by Coach Joe McCaulley as the “Golden Voice of Honker Football”. I continued that until the last season before I retired. After I left YCHS, I went to Yuba College as an adjunct faculty member, teaching lab sections of three different biology courses. I finished there in the spring of ’08 with 17 years of service, for a total of 50 years in teaching, which went by very fast.
