I was attending YCHS and decided to move to Bakersfield to live with my brother and his wife before our senior year began and I then returned for the second semester. After completing high school, I moved to Los Angeles in June 1963, to pursue a Cost Accountant position with General Telephone in Santa Monica.
My future dear husband and I were introduced when we went on a blind date late that same summer. We married in early 1964, and have been married now for 51 years. We brought two sons into this world, our oldest was born on Christmas day 1965 and our second was born in January 1969.
My husband was an executive with a national grocery chain and I was a stay-at-home mom for 13 years. We moved to Redding, CA in 1973 where we continue to live. I returned to work as a Certified Optician which I enjoyed for 22 years. We loved to travel, fly fish varied streams, and we are “car” enthusiasts.
Following retirement we traveled with our fifth wheel and also flew to a few countries until my husband had a massive hemorrhagic stroke in early 2013. We have a 1937 Ford that I now drive to functions since my hubby is unable to drive. I am now planning to study languages through online classes.
